In the right hands your radar set should be a powerful safety and navigation facility not just a blurred picture of things nearby! This is a one-day course, which is carried out either on a computer simulator or on a yacht fitted with radar. Class size is limited to 2 students per computer terminal or 4 per yacht. The syllabus includes a broad understanding of principles of radar, major components, controls and settings and operating modes. Sections on the use of plotting techniques for collision avoidance, using radar for navigation, interfacing with other equipment and setting up for optimum performance should give new operators the knowledge needed to get the best out of their set. Courses usually run from 0900 - 1700. (Includes a very useful course notes booklet)
Course fee £110.00.
